Times Leader still has Brady Cleaver out after Wilkes-Barre Area, with Escobar at quarterback. Bryce Cleaver’s carry and interception in this box are a different player. Times Leader lists Conor Richardson at 99 passing and 58 rushing, and Angel Tejada with 4 catches for 51 (Tejada’s 4-51 matches this receiving line). This box lists Logan Richardson at 8-16-2 for 96 and 12-80 rushing, and Conor Richardson receiving 2-20. Two interceptions: Bryce Cleaver and Shiloh Escobar. Quarters 7-7-0-0 and 0-0-0-0 from MaxPreps (S. ScoreFinder). October starts with a real number next to the Dawgs’ name — and it is a playoff number.
Steve Bennett’s Citizens’ Voice look at District 2 seedings after five weeks has Berwick sixth in Class 4A at 2-3 with a .489 power rating. Top eight of ten qualify. North Pocono sits first at 5-0 (.790). Dallas is second at 5-0 (.739). Honesdale, Wallenpaupack, and Valley View fill three through five. Carbondale Area is seventh at 2-3. Nanticoke Area and Crestwood are eighth and ninth. Hanover Area, Friday’s opponent, is tenth at 0-5 (.189).
That is not a victory lap. Sixth with five to play means the October slate still decides the seed — and home field for a title game is already a North Pocono–Dallas conversation. The Voice notes Dallas still has Hanover Area and Berwick on the board. The Dawgs still have Hanover Area, Hazleton Area, Williamsport, Crestwood, and Dallas.
On the statewide Class 4A board, PennLive’s rankings after Week 5 finally posted. North Pocono climbed from eighth to fourth at 5-0. Dallas entered at eighth at 5-0. Shamokin is still first. Berwick is not in that 10 and not among the teams to watch — same neighborhood as last week’s desk note, just with the Tuesday board filled in. FOX56’s FNR Top Ten Week 5 has North Pocono fourth and Dallas fifth locally; Berwick is not on that 10 either.
Friday is still Hanover Area on the road at 7. Listen on the NEPA board. Read the Voice and PennLive at the source.
