The television truck is going to Monroe County. The Dawgs are going to Yatesville.
FOX56's Robert Ide posted the first in-season Friday Night Rivals Top 10 on Tuesday night. North Pocono stayed fourth after Friday's 36-20 over Berwick. The same piece sends the FNR crew to Wallenpaupack at East Stroudsburg South this Friday, live on MYTV WQMY at 7. The station's season board has said the same thing since summer: Sept. 4 is Wallenpaupack, not Berwick. There is no public television listing for the Dawgs this week.
The radio is still ours. NEPA Football's Week 2 board lists Berwick at Pittston Area on WHLM. That is Jim Doyle and Andy Ulicny on GOAT Rocks PA — 102.3, 104.3, 107.1, AM 930 and 1280, and goatrockspa.com. The C.J. Curry Show at 6, pregame at 6:30, kick at 7 at Charley Trippi. NFHS Network does not have a public stream listed for this game.
Steve Bennett's Voice piece from Wednesday is the closest thing to a Week 2 Wyoming Valley roundup. Nine of 12 conference teams lost in the opener. Only Crestwood, Dallas, and Lake-Lehman won. Pittston Area allowed 50 at East Stroudsburg South, the most in the WVC last week, and the first time the Patriots had given up 50 or more since Dallas 56-15 in 2019. Bennett had Santino Capitano at 106 passing and 148 rushing with two scores, and Lucas LoPresto at 80 receiving plus a touchdown, a touchdown pass, and a fumble return. Those are the Voice's Wednesday numbers, next to Tom Robinson's Sunday Dispatch recap. Not a second box score.
Berwick is in that same piece as Division 2, with Crestwood, Dallas, and Hanover Area. There is a Gavin Galutia photo from Trojan Stadium. There is not a full Berwick-Pittston scouting report yet. Times Leader, Standard-Speaker, and the Sunday Dispatch have not posted a Friday preview as of Thursday morning.
Conference play still starts at 7 at Charley Trippi. Season is 0-1. The Patriots are 0-1. Last year those were the two WVC division champions. Listen.
