The second paper write-up of the home opener is in.

Brian Ptashinski’s Citizens’ Voice recap has Berwick 39, Wyoming Area 0 at Crispin Field, with Brayden Cleaver for three rushing touchdowns and a touchdown pass. Gavin Galutia opened the scoring. Brock Simms punched in early in the second. Cleaver scored from four and twelve before the half, then again in the third before hitting Gabe Decker from nine to put the running clock on.

The Voice adds a couple of beats the Times Leader left thinner. Wyoming Area recovered an onside kick to start the second half and still could not convert near the goal line. Shiloh Escobar sealed the shutout with an interception inside the Berwick 10 late, and the Dawgs ran out the clock from there. Coach C.J. Curry told the paper the Warriors could have made it closer and that Berwick still has things to clean up.

Berwick is 2-1 and 2-0 in conference play. Next Friday at Crispin is Wilkes-Barre Area, listed 0-3 coming in.
