Two road games are done. Friday the lights come back on at Crispin Field.

Steve Bennett’s midweek Citizens’ Voice piece puts the season in a straight line: Berwick moved up to Class 4A, opened with a 36-20 loss at defending champion North Pocono, then answered at Class 5A Pittston Area with a 36-17 win. The Voice has the Dawgs over 370 rushing yards in that one, with Brady Cleaver barely throwing and Gavin Galutia flipping the game on a pick-six. CJ Curry’s line in the write-up is the honest one — there is not a soft spot left to circle.

Friday is the home opener against Wyoming Area at 7. Both sides are 1-1. The Warriors just rolled Hanover Area 47-6 behind Luke Kopetchny, the Brown commit now running the offense after the quarterback shuffle. Dallas is the only undefeated team left in the WVC. Berwick, Crestwood, Lake-Lehman, and Wyoming Area sit right behind at 1-1.

Crispin has not hosted a varsity night since last year’s District 2 Class 3A final loss to Scranton Prep. That is enough drama without inventing more. The Voice is paywalled; the link is below.
